The latest in powerboat engineering

Swecat Racing’s pilots, Mikael Bengtsson and Erik Stark have been working with Ocke and Ted Mannerfelt at the Mannerfelt Design Team, to develop a new catamaran – the Hypercat.

Race Cat Specification

The Hypercat will be built in Sweden, in full carbon fibre, drawing full use of the latest technology within vacuum infused composites manufacturing.

The new boat has been designed to comply with most available offshore catamaran racing classes worldwide, including Superboat Stock, under the UIM guidelines, currently governing the XCAT World Series.

In addition to a hull design engineered to harness the awesome power of the Mercury Racing 400 ROS engines, the boat has been optimised to minimise drag, using advanced wind tunnel simulation software.

Twin Mercury Verado 400ROS
Upon the heels of the highly successful Verado 400R outboard is its sinister competition relative, the Mercury Racing 400 ROS (Race Offshore). The 400 ROS features the 400R powerhead mounted on an all-new race midsection, featuring the competition proven Mercury Racing heavy-duty swivel clamp bracket assembly. A Sport Master gearcase transfers the 400 ROS’s massive power to the water. And to ensure every revolution counts, Mercury Racing has developed an all-new line of CNC cleaver propellers specifically for the 400 ROS. Race Offshore Information Card
